About Me

Jasmine Stoker, Licensed Professional Counselor

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and the Founder of Here's A Starting Point, PLLC, where therapy, advocacy, and community care come together to make healing accessible, culturally responsive, and rooted in connection. My clinical work centers on grief, body image, and emotional safety, especially for adolescents, families, and adults navigating identity, life transitions, and visibility in environments that don’t always make space for them.

Individual Therapy That Honors Your Journey
Looking into the mirror of life takes courage—especially when the world has taught you to look away. If you’ve learned to make yourself smaller to survive, tucked your truth away to keep going, or feel like you're living from the outside looking in: I see you. Whether you're grieving, wrestling with body image, or navigating change, I understand how overwhelming it can feel to hold it all while feeling invisible.

Many of us become experts at performing and producing, building lives around expectations while hiding deeper pain. But like a beach ball held underwater, those emotions always rise. I believe healing begins with safety: a space where your full self is welcome. At Here’s A Starting Point, therapy isn’t just about coping, it’s about coming home to yourself. Our work together invites reflection, growth, laughter, and grief, grounded in authenticity and radical self-compassion. As Lucille Clifton reminds us: “Whatever tried to take your life has failed.”

Beyond the Therapy Room
Outside of individual sessions, I consult with schools, churches, and organizations to support emotional education, staff wellness, and the creation of inclusive, emotionally safe environments. I bring a culturally humble, trauma-informed lens to spaces where people are often seen, but not always supported. This includes high-impact settings where visibility is common but vulnerability is rare.

Through workshops, public speaking, and community-based events, I help individuals and systems build sustainable cultures of care. Whether in therapy, consulting, or collaborative work, my mission remains the same: to help bring Healing Home.

Community Healing Spaces

Understanding that some journeys are best walked together, I offer specialized group experiences:

Black Woman's Sabbath
A sacred space for Black women to exhale, this restorative group honors the revolutionary act of rest. Here, we explore boundaries, embrace stillness, and reclaim our right to peace in a world that often demands our constant motion.

Dead Dad Club
More than a grief support group, Dead Dad Club is a gathering space for those learning to carry the weight of father loss. Through storytelling, shared rituals, and honest community, we make room for both ache and healing.

Mental Health Workshops for Adolescents and Parents
These culturally-relevant workshops bridge the generation gap, providing tools for emotional literacy and authentic communication. We create safe harbors for families to navigate difficult conversations and strengthen their bonds.

My Therapeutic Approach

My practice weaves together evidence-based techniques with the wisdom of faith, mindfulness, and the healing power of music. As a Brainspotting practitioner, I offer specialized support for processing deep emotional pain and trauma. Whether working with body image issues, adolescent challenges, anxiety, depression, or grief, I create space for both healing and joy, understanding that sometimes these seemingly opposite experiences dance together in the same moment.
